Tailored suits and dress shirts at Shenzhen are incredibly cheap

If you are looking for a new suit or tuxedo, I highly recommend getting them tailored in Shenzhen. Luohu Commercial City, the mall right past the Luohu/Luowu entrance to China houses a ton of fashion stores. The tailor we found only charged us 650RMB for a 3 piece suit (jacket, vest, slacks) of any style. Vinny and Chanrith picked one out of a fashion magazine, selected a color and material, and had their sizes measured in under an hour total. Helen also ordered something, and got to pick her own fabric straight from the fabric suppliers just upstairs. I wasn’t planning to get anything, but was moved by the low price. Two dress shirts, custom made, for under US$20 each! Similarly, I picked my own fabric, style of collar, sleeve type, and other little things I never knew differed in a shirt.

A funny banner in the store:

Fake selling... as opposed to real selling?

Fake selling... as opposed to real selling?

Oh yeah, another thing; I am getting used to the “Welcome home” comments every time I pass through China custom. I looked up the statistics: only about 1.5% of Chinese Nationals have Chinese passports… no wonder I haven’t seen a single one these cute little red booklets around my travels in Asia.
