Shanghai: Nanjing Walking Street is pretty, but has no cultral value

A walk down the famous Nanjing Walking Street reminded me of New York’s 5th Avenue and HK Tsim Sha Tsui’s Canton Road. Medium to high class clothing stores welcomed millions of tourists. Between the stores thrived booths of Shanghai street food and western fast food chains. I wanted to visit something more cultural, so the Walking Street didn’t exactly satisfy me.

Just a little while before that, we had lunch at Ding Tai Feng in Xin Tian Di, which in my opinion has way better xiaolongbao than Nan Xiang, and the lines were a lot shorter too. I highly recommend this place.

I was supposed to meet up with some friends from Fudan, but since I had no phone, that fell though. Later in the day, we flew to Shenzhen and checked into Queen Spa, our favorite place in Shenzhen.
